Transparency notices: Art. 50 disclosure duties
The Transparency domain of the Obligations register: Article 50 duties for systems that talk to people, read emotions or generate synthetic content — and the notice studio that drafts the wording.
Obligations, filtered to the Transparency & information domain, collects every Article 50 disclosure duty across the portfolio, together with the Art. 13 instructions-for-use and Art. 26(7) worker-information duties that belong to the same domain. Art. 50 duties do not depend on risk tier — a minimal-risk chatbot still has to tell people it is a chatbot — so this view often has rows even when nothing you run is high-risk.
Which systems appear
The engine derives applicability from the transparency triggers you set at classification:
- Interacts directly with people → Art. 50(1): tell them they are interacting with an AI system, unless it is obvious from the circumstances.
- Generates or manipulates synthetic content → Art. 50(2): mark the output as artificially generated in a machine-readable way (a system already on the market before 2 August 2026 has until 2 December 2026 to do so, under Art. 111(4)); and Art. 50(4): disclose deepfakes, and AI-generated text published to inform the public on matters of public interest unless it has been through human review and editorial responsibility.
- Emotion recognition or biometric categorisation → Art. 50(3): inform the people exposed to it.

Doing the work
Each row is a system's transparency obligation. Open it to complete the checklist and store the wording you actually use: where the disclosure appears, the exact notice text, and evidence (a screenshot of the chatbot banner, the label specification for generated media).
With this domain selected the register shows the notice studio: it drafts the user-facing wording for each system that needs it from the system's own details — adjust the tone, paste it into your product, and attach the final version as evidence.
Deadline context
Art. 50 has applied since 2 August 2026 — for most organisations the first EU AI Act duty that touched ordinary products. The rows carry that as their statutory date, so an open Art. 50 duty counts towards the Dashboard's Statutory late tile.
