Understand your dashboard

A tour of the dashboard: the score ring, high-risk countdown, stat cards, risk-tier and evidence-freshness posture, phase overview, gate alerts, action queue and activity feed.

Updated 15.07.2026

The Dashboard is your portfolio at a glance — the first screen after sign-in, and the place to answer "where do we stand, and what needs attention today?" Read it top-to-bottom; every card is live and every item links back to the system, obligation, or review it came from.

The header strip

At the top you get a greeting and a one-line summary of how many obligations are overdue and due this week. On the right:

  • a portfolio score ring — your single weighted compliance score across every system (green ≥ 80, amber ≥ 60, terracotta below). It's hidden while the portfolio is empty, because a 0% ring reads as failure rather than "nothing yet";
  • Replay tour — reopens the welcome walkthrough;
  • Export — downloads the compliance matrix as CSV (a Starter+ feature);
  • Register a system.

The countdown banner

Directly below sits the deadline ribbon: a large day-count to when high-risk obligations apply, with a progress sliver showing how much of the runway (from the Act's entry into force) has elapsed.

Read it as your runway, not a due date for one task. It tracks the Annex III high-risk application milestone under Art. 113's phased timeline (the app flags the date as proposed pending the 2025 Digital Omnibus). Remember the Act phases in around it: Art. 5 prohibitions and Art. 4 literacy have applied since 2 Feb 2025, GPAI (Art. 53/55) since 2 Aug 2025, Art. 50 transparency from 2 Aug 2026, and the Art. 6(1) product route from 2 Aug 2027.

The four stat cards

A row of four KPIs, each clickable through to the underlying list:

  1. AI systems registered — your inventory size, with a footnote counting how many are high-risk.
  2. Obligation completion — the weighted portfolio percentage (the same figure as the ring), labelled On track / Attention needed / Action required.
  3. Overdue obligations — turns red when any duty is past its due date.
  4. Open incidents — turns amber when any incident is unresolved, with the reminder that the Art. 73 reporting timer (serious incidents: 2 / 10 / 15 days) is running.

A red PROHIBITED banner appears above these cards if any system is classified prohibited under Art. 5. While it shows, the portfolio score is forced to 0 — the Act bans those systems outright, so no other progress offsets them. Clear it by withdrawing or reclassifying the system.

Posture row — trend, risk breakdown, evidence freshness

Three side-by-side panels:

  • Score trend — a 30-day sparkline of your compliance score, with the point change over the period. It fills out after a few days of history.
  • By risk tier (the risk breakdown) — average completion per tier (e.g. HIGH 54% · LIMITED 88%), so a strong score on minimal-risk systems can't mask weak coverage on the high-risk ones. Read this before you trust the single portfolio number.
  • Evidence freshness — counts of proof that is expired or expiring ≤ 30 days. Lapsed evidence drops out of coverage until renewed; open the hub from here to fix it.

Systems by phase and gate alerts

A six-row bar chart shows how many systems currently sit in each phase — Classify → Scope → Implement → Assess → Register → Monitor. Use it to see where your portfolio is bunched: lots of systems stuck in Classify means classification is your bottleneck.

The Phase gate alerts card is your unblock-first queue, split in two:

  • Approaching gate (green) — systems within a few items of clearing their current phase, with the percentage remaining. Small pushes with big payoff.
  • Locked gates (amber) — systems where later phases are locked because an earlier phase isn't 100%. It names the phase to finish first.

Risk assessments and systems needing attention

  • Risk assessments — lists systems with an open Art. 9 risk-management process, Art. 27 FRIA, or GPAI evaluation still to complete.
  • Systems needing attention — surfaces the worst-off systems first: overdue work, provider high-risk systems not yet registered in the EU database, no assigned owner, or more than 30 days of silence.
  • Pending approvals — shows only if you're a reviewer with items waiting on your sign-off.

Action queue and activity feed

The Action queue is a preview list of the soonest open obligations across the whole portfolio (due within seven days), each showing its article reference, system, status pill, and a colour-coded due label (overdue in terracotta, due-soon in amber). It's a list of the next items, not a total — the true overdue count lives in the stat card above it.

The Recent activity panel is a live tail of your audit log — classifications run, obligations completed, incidents raised, dossiers submitted — each with the actor and a relative timestamp. Below it you'll also find Aria's recommendations and Regulatory / Industry news.

How to work it

  1. Clear any PROHIBITED banner first — it zeroes everything else.
  2. Resolve Locked gates in Phase gate alerts — they hold up whole phases.
  3. Burn down the Action queue and the Overdue card.
  4. Glance at By risk tier and Evidence freshness to make sure the headline score is honest.

The dashboard never invents work: every number reflects the engine's live view, and every card is a shortcut to the exact place you'd go to fix it.
